Swedish developer Vattenfall wants to sell a share in its 1500MW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind project off the Netherlands.
A spokesperson told reNEWS the company has appointed an adviser to help it progress a sale and said the developer is “just at the beginning” of the process to attract partners or co-investors into the project.
“One cornerstone of Vattenfall’s growth strategy is to look for potential investors to balance the huge investment costs of our future assets. We call this ‘asset ownership flexibility’,” the spokesperson said.
“This approach is a common process in our industry. Strong investors will support us to drive the transformation of the energy landscape, since it will open up financial space for new investments in renewables and decarbonisation.”
Vattenfall said it is too early to disclose any specific details about the sale.
The 1.5GW Hollandse Kust Zuid complex will feature 140 Siemens Gamesa 11MW turbines and is due online in 2022.
