Vattenfall, Skyborn Renewables and Banque des Territoires have applied for prequalification for a 1500MW offshore wind farm project off Normandy, France.
Located in an area off Barfleur, the Centre Manche 2 project (AO8) is located near the first Centre Manche (AO4) project, for which the alliance submitted a bid in November 2022.
The result of this first procedure is expected in the first quarter of 2023.
The two projects are expected to be commissioned by 2030, with the announcement of prequalified candidates for AO8 made by the French State in early 2023.
Following extensive consultation work with all the players in the territory, the alliance has already entered into strategic partnerships, including the Charter of Commitment signed with the Normandy Maritime cluster in September 2021 and the Partnership Agreement signed with the cluster of Norman industrial subcontractors, Sotraban, in June 2022.
