Swedish utility Vattenfall has taken the wraps off plans to sell renewable electricity direct to UK business customers.
The green power offering will launch this month, the company said.
Vattenfall’s new head of business area markets Anna Borg said it is the first time it will offer a specific retail product direct to the UK market.
“We are able to do this because of our investment in British wind capacity since 2008. Our renewable electricity product will help our future business customers achieve their sustainability goals,” she said.
The company said it has invested nearly £3bn in the UK energy industry since 2008 and now operates over 1GW of onshore and offshore capacity.
