Offshore wind services company Venterra Group has opened its US first office.
The new office will be located in the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) in Providence, Rhode Island
It will serve as Venterra’s primary location on the east coast to support its operations across the offshore wind farm lifecycle.
Venterra Group, headquartered in the UK, was formed to create a global services champion supporting the offshore wind industry’s rapid expansion and leading role in the energy transition.
The majority of Venterra’s eight member companies already operate in the US and it made its first US acquisition with INSPIRE Environmental in July 2022.
INSPIRE serves clients in the offshore wind, ports and marine construction sectors and is located in Newport, Rhode Island.
“We are excited to have an established base in Rhode Island, a dynamic and strategic centre of industry expertise in this fast growing market,” said Rob Jewkes, Venterra’s CEO.
“We set up to support customers world-wide and Venterra’s experienced member companies today already serve key US developers on both the east and west coasts. There is a great opportunity to help build a US supply chain with strong local content and jobs in renewable energy that help meet urgent demand for clean power.
Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee added: “Rhode Island is proud to welcome Venterra Group to our state’s fast-growing cluster of offshore wind leaders from around the world.
“As the Ocean State, we are committed to continuing to invest in our thriving blue economy in a way that creates good jobs and leads the way toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.”
