The first three 15MW turbines featuring nacelles built at Vestas’ new Szczecin factory have been installed at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm.
Developers Northland Power and Orlen said the milestone marks a pivotal moment for Poland’s emerging offshore wind supply chain, with several of the project’s 76 nacelles to be produced in the West Pomeranian facility.
The V236-15.0 nacelles are the first commercial units to be delivered from the Polish plant, where Vestas is hiring more than 600 employees.
The nacelles house key generating equipment within a structure comparable to a three-storey building, with external elements including the hub, lightning protection systems and cooling components.
Additional nacelles for the project will come from Vestas’ Lindo factory in Denmark.
Turbine installation began in July 2025, led by a Cadeler O-class jack-up vessel and supported by multiple CTV and SOV units.
