Jan de Nul’s new installation vessel Vole au Vent has loaded the first monopile foundations and transition pieces for Nobelwind’s 165MW Belwind 2 offshore wind farm off the coast of Zeebrugge in Belgium.
The company said in a Facebook posting that the 140 metre jack-up (pictured) had begun taking the cargo today in what will be its first installation campaign.
Jan de Nul’s EPCI contract includes the installation of 51 EEW-made monopile foundations and the offshore high voltage substation, as well as the supply and installation of scour protection and the installation of 50 Vestas 3.3MW wind turbines. The TPs were made by CS Wind.
The work is expected to continue into 2017.
