Vroon has officially named its new subsea-support walk-to-work vessel VOS Stone at a ceremony in Rotterdam.
The vessel was delivered to Vroon in July from Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China, before undergoing final outfitting in the Netherlands.
Vroon said the vessel is now ready to commence operations in the North Sea.
VOS Stone is equipped with a motion-compensated offshore gangway, a 50-tonne active-heave-compensated crane and has a covered warehouse on the main-deck.
It also has accommodation for up to 60 passengers.
VBMS has chartered VOS Stone to support array cabling at the 385MW Arkona offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea starting in spring 2018.
Eon has also chartered the vessel to provide logistics support and offshore accommodation at the same wind farm from the middle of next year.
VOS Stone is the sister vessel of VOS Start, which is currently working on the 659MW Walney 3 project in the Irish Sea.
