Dutch shipping company Wagenborg has set sail with the topside for the Horns Rev 3 offshore wind substation ahead of installation off Denmark for transmission company Energinet.dk.
Vessel pair Waterland and Wagenborg Barge left Schiedam at the weekend with the HSM-built structure (pictured), which will export power from Vattenfall’s 400MW offshore wind farm.
Upon arrival in Esbjerg the company “will await further instructions” from installation outfit Seaway Heavy Lifting. Vessel Stanislav Yudin will tackle the job.
Energinet.dk is responsible for grid works at Horns Rev 3 out to and including the offshore substation. Vattenfall is expected to kick off construction of the wind farm itself next year.
