Siemens wind and renewables orders soared 47% in the second quarter of the 2017 financial year to more than €3.1bn, compared with just over €2.1bn in the same period last year.
The German giant said the figures were boosted by a €1.4bn deal for an offshore wind farm, as well as “several other large orders”.
Revenue from wind and renewables grew 4% to almost €1.52bn from €1.46bn in the same period in 2016.
Profit was also up at €155m from €137m in 2016, a rise of 13%.
Siemens also reported growth in its onshore wind and services business, particularly in Asia and Australia.
Overall, the company’s orders were up 2% to €22.6bn from €22.3bn last year, while revenue increased 6% to €20.2bn from almost €19bn in the second quarter last year.
