The offshore substation for Iberdrola’s 315MW Windanker wind farm in the German Baltic Sea has been dispatched for installation following completion of the topside and jacket foundation by HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv.
The 4,500-tonne Jasmund topside left HSM’s Stormpolder yard and travelled through central Rotterdam while the jacket has left Smulders’ Vlissingen yard.

Both structures will be installed by Heerma Marine Contractors north-east of Rugen Island.
The substation has a planned capacity of 300MW and will connect the under-construction Windanker wind farm to the onshore grid.
It is the first of three topsides being delivered for German transmission operator 50Hertz as part of the Ostwind 3 and OST-6-1 grid expansion projects.
