WSP has appointed Chris Cowland (pictured) as head of offshore wind for the UK and Ireland.
Cowland brings over 27 years of experience across offshore wind, hydrocarbons, mining, and port development.
Most recently, he served as vice president and subsector lead for global offshore wind at Worley.
His expertise includes leading the development and delivery of numerous offshore wind farms globally, with extensive experience in engineering design, risk mitigation, and managing offshore substation platforms and wind turbine generator foundations for both fixed and floating structures, WSP said.
Mark Hurley, WSP executive managing director for water, energy, earth and environment, said: “With the UK government’s commitment to quadruple offshore wind by 2030, we see huge potential for WSP to support new and existing clients on this key element of the UK’s transition to net zero.
“Chris is expertly positioned to lead our approach in this space and support the delivery of a significant element of our growth plans for our Energy business.”
