Turbine installations have recommenced at the 640MW Yunlin offshore project off Taiwan, with the arrival of the vessel Seajacks Zaratan.
Following monopile installation, seabed preparation, as well as preparatory works at the pre-assembly site in Taichung and vessel mobilisation, Yunlin’s 2024 campaign is underway with two machines installed in Taiwanese waters.
Monopile installation will continue in the coming weeks, alongside transition piece installation and cable installation activities.
So far, installation teams have installed 36 out of 80 turbines, along with 56 monopile foundations, 53 transition pieces, 28 out of 69 inner array grids and all 12 export cables.
The Yunlin offshore wind farm project is a “top priority” for Skyborn Renewables and its partners, delivering electricity under two 20-year power purchase agreements.
The project team and all contractors are working at “full pace” to meet the scheduled targets and install all remaining monopile foundations, inner array grid and wind turbine generators during the course of 2024.
