Ziton has won a deal to carry out major component exchanges for Vattenfall at the developer’s offshore wind farms.
The three-year contract is a “step in the right direction” for cost reduction in offshore wind operations and maintenance, the companies said.
Vattenfall project manager Magnus Jansson said the deal will make the developer a “more efficient operator” of offshore projects.
“That leads to a lean and industrialised work processes where we can reuse and refine our learnings across sites,” he said.
Ziton chief executive Thorsten Jalk added the O&M outfit would leverage its experience in the industry for the job.
“Being dedicated to O&M, we have optimised the use of our jack-up vessels, and combined with this framework agreement, Ziton will be able to contribute to lowering the costs of operating offshore wind farms,” he said.
