Taaleri Energia, AIP Management (AIP), and Akuo, have celebrated the inauguration of the 336MW Escalade wind farm in Truscott Texas.
The project will see the first Vestas V162 wind turbine to be installed in North America.
The Vestas V162 EnVentus offers a wide range of standard hub heights and modes of operation that can be combined with an extensive list of technology options to create customised solutions to suit the needs of each unique project, Taaleri Energia said.
In total the Escalade project consists of 45 Vestas V162 5.6MW turbines and 20 Vestas V150 4.2MW turbines.
Its annual production of electricity is approximately 1270GWh.
Managing director of Taaleri Energia Kai Rintala stated: “We are extremely proud of the Escalade wind farm.
“The onshore wind resource in Texas is excellent and the location of the wind farm, with connections to the large population centres, is also ideal.
“The fact that we developed this project in-house and succeeded in bringing on board such high calibre partners, co-investors and financiers is a testament to the strength of our development, engineering and investment capabilities.”
