ABO Energy has sold the 63MW Papoqji’jg wind project in Canada to independent power producer Eolectric.
The company said the project will comprise up to eleven wind turbines and was developed in partnership with Pabineau First Nation.
ABO Energy added it secured a power purchase agreement for the project in 2025 following a competitive procurement process.
Eolectric will oversee construction of the wind farm and the sale of electricity to NB Power, with commissioning planned for the end of 2028.
The project name Papoqji’jg originates from the traditional language of the Mi’kmaq First Nation and means a small, gentle, quiet pool on a river.
