Montana-Dakota Utilities has bought from Allete Clean Energy the 107.5MW Thunder Spirit Wind project near Hettinger in North Dakota.
The $220m wind farm, which was built by Allete Clean Energy, was completed last week and all 43 turbines are in commercial operation. ALLETE Clean Energy constructed the project.
Montana-Dakota, a division of MDU Resources Group, will have employees on site to manage the site and grounds maintenance, while Nordex will have staff on site to operate and maintain the towers.
Montana-Dakota president and chief executive officer said: “We could not have finished this project in a timely manner without the dedicated work of our employees, Allete Clean Energy’s construction management and the construction provided by Wanzek Construction and Nordex.”
