Alliant Energy has topped 1GW of wind energy in the US state of Iowa with the completion of the 130MW Richland wind farm in Sac County.
The company said the 1GW goal has been reached several months ahead of schedule and within budget.
Richland is among five wind projects across seven counties in the state.
The wind farm will provide electricity to approximately 430,000 Iowa homes.
Construction started in July 2019.
