Finance company Allianz has thrown its weight behind the 184MW Kelly Creek wind farm in Illinois.
The company has invested tax equity in the EDF Renewable Energy project, which features 92 Vestas V100 2MW machines.
The deal expands expands Allianz’s “growing US wind farm tax equity portfolio in partnership with an experienced owner-operator”.
Kelly Creek went live last year and is 115km southwest of Chicago.
“The US offers a very attractive framework for wind investments (which) offer stable and uncorrelated returns to Allianz even in the current low interest environment,” said head of renewables David Jones.
