UK outfit Altitec is partnering with a wind turbine manufacturer to provide end of warranty blade inspections and repairs in the UK and Australia.
Under the terms of the deal, Altitec will provide inspections at 100 sites throughout the UK, as well as repairs in the Australian state of Victoria.
The work in Australia follows the successful completion of an initial six-week job in June, the company said.
Altitec has partnered with an Australian distributor in Melbourne to secure the use of ActSafe Ascenders for blade access.
It said the powered rope ascenders allows its technicians to conduct up to 35% more work on average.
Altitec Group managing director Tom Dyffort said: “The deal represents a first foray into the Australian market, and we’re looking forward to further expanding our global reach.”
