Ardian Infrastructure has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement covering a third of the output from its 280MW Andberg wind farm in Sweden.
The contract is with offtaker Skelleftea Kraft, a municipal power company in north Sweden.
The wind farm is under construction by OX2 and will be ready in 2022.
Ardian purchased Andberg wind farm earlier this year for €300m via its regional sustainable energy platform, eNordic.
Skelleftea Kraft, one of Sweden’s largest energy producers, will buy around 250 gigawatt-hours of Andberg’s annual production.
Ardian Infrastructure’s portfolio in the Nordics, which includes two wind farm investments in Norway and Sweden, exceeds 400MW.
eNordic chief executive Eero Auranne said: “With this agreement we establish a long-term partnership with Skelleftea Kraft to supply locally generated green power to consumers.
“It demonstrates the value of strong local cooperation and the commercial viability of green energy. We look forward to continue working with Skelleftea Kraft as we build out our sustainable energy platform with further investments in the region”.
Skelleftea Kraft acting business area director for power systems Stefan Forsgren said: “As one of Sweden’s largest energy companies we have a huge responsibility to drive the transition towards a more sustainable society.
“We see investments into new windfarms as an important part of this transition and are excited to together with eNordic and Ardian make this new windfarm in Sweden a success, while at the same time ensuring that our customers get access to large sources of sustainable energy”.
