Aquila Capital has agreed to acquire the 14.4MW Ykspihlaja wind farm in Finland from developer OX2.
The project will consist of four Nordex N131/3600 turbines and will be located in Kokkola, some 100km north of Vaasa.
OX2 is building the wind farm and will also manage the facility, which is expected to produce approximately 55 gigawatt-hours of electricity a year.
Commissioning of Ykspihlaja is scheduled for the end of the year and Aquila will take ownership at the start of 2018.
Works contractor is KSBR, while KENET will provide the grid connection, Aquila said.
Aquila Capital chief executive and co-founder Roman Rosslenbroich said: “Due to the high demand for renewable energy infrastructure, the deal pipeline of attractive target investments is a crucial factor and we are happy about another successful acquisition in the Nordics and the long-standing collaboration with OX2.”
