The Australian government has rejected plans for the 81-turbine Lotus Creek wind farm in Queensland because of impacts on protected native wildlife.

The project, which is under development by Epuron, would impact threatened species and communities covered by the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, the ruling said.
Epuron had not commented on the decision at press time.
