Avangrid Renewables has unveiled plans to erect up to 150 turbines in northwest New York State.
Subsidiary Atlantic Wind is developing the 350MW Mad River project in Jefferson and Oswego counties, according to a filing to the state siting board.
The applicant is assessing interconnection options and has been assigned a queue position along the 345kV Volney-Marcy line.
The 19,000-acre project area is located on leased private land.
Avangrid expects the wind farm will create 350 construction jobs and 20 permanent jobs.
The Department of Public Service is reviewing the proponent’s proposed public involvement program, the first step in the state’s Article 10 permit process.
Avangrid may file a preliminary scoping statement after 150 days.
