Iberdrola-owned Avangrid has achieved the milestone of having more than 9GW of onshore wind and solar assets installed.
Pedro Azagra, Avangrid chief executive, said: “I am proud of the continued progress Avangrid is making to grow our renewable energy footprint nationwide, but we are not complacent.
“With a big pipeline of future renewable energy projects across the country, and a large fleet of onshore wind projects that is ripe for repowering, we remain steadfast in our commitment to accelerating the clean energy transition.
“In reaching this milestone, we are setting our sites on the next.”
Avangrid’s onshore wind and solar portfolio includes more than 75 projects spread across 22 US states.
It has over 8GW of installed wind capacity and about 1GW of installed solar capacity, including projects that are currently under construction.
Construction progress at multiple Avangrid projects this summer helped the company reach this 9GW milestone, it said.
