ABO Wind UK has resubmitted a planning application to the Scottish Borders Council for the 24.5MW Barrel Law wind farm in Scotland.
The proposal is for the project to feature seven turbines with tip heights of up to 132 metres.
It would be located approximately 2km south of the operational 16MW Langhope Rig wind farm on the lands of Todrig and Whitslade farms near Barrel Law.
The new proposal is different to the application made by ABO Wind in 2012 and aims to address the reasons for the refusal at that time, the developer said.
The number of turbines has been reduced from eight and the site has been moved north towards the Langhope Rig project further away from the Ale Water and the Ashkirk to Roberton road, it said.
The submission includes an environmental impact assessment assessing the potential effects of the wind farm on landscape and visual amenity, ornithology, ecology, traffic, cultural heritage, geology, hydrology, tourism and recreation.
ABO Wind UK head of development Clark Crosbie said: “The site is located well outside the area being discussed for a proposed Borders National Park.
“In addition, the site has good wind resource, a readily available electricity grid connection and is relatively isolated from houses”.
ABO Wind conducted a pre-application consultation and Scottish Borders Council will now hold a further period of consultation for interested parties to register views on the planning application.
