Goldwind Australia has selected Boom Logistics to carry out lifting and mechanical and electrical installation of 48 3MW turbines at the 144MW Cattle Hill wind farm in Tasmania.
Work on the project, which is located on the eastern shore of Lake Echo, will start this month and is expected to be completed in late 2019.
The contract is worth between A$13-A$16m, Boom said.
It will mobilise eight cranes, including two 750-tonne machines, to lift the turbines into place to a hub heights of 100 metres.
