Canadian renewables outfit Boralex has acquired eight wind farms in France from Ecotera Developpement, concluding a three-year deal with the developer.
The portfolio spans projects at different development stages and has a combined capacity of over 100MW, taking Boralex’s portfolio of projects under development in France to over 1GW.
The deal also includes the acquisition of Ecotera Developpement itself, which has developed more than 350MW of renewable energy capacity.
Boralex Europe general manager Patrick Decostre said: “I’m delighted with the closing of this transaction, which wraps up a successful partnership that began three years ago.
“With this acquisition, Boralex stands to benefit from numerous operational synergies, while fully capitalizing on its unique and integrated model as developer, prime contractor and operator of its projects”.
