Canadian outfit SWEB Development is nearing completion of the 6MW Hardwood Lands wind project in Nova Scotia.
Crews erected three Vestas V110 2MW turbines on 95-metre towers and are continuing work on the internal wiring and grid connection.
SWEB is a joint venture of Scotian Wind, Scotian WindFields and WEB Wind Energy North America, a subsidiary of Austria-based WEB Windenergie.
The Hardwood Lands wind farm is the final of four community feed-in tariff (COMFIT) projects constructed by SWEB this year. The partners also installed a pair of 1.99MW projects at Brenton and Walton and the 1.7MW Baddeck scheme.
“With the installation of the final turbine on the site at Hardwood Lands, Scotian Wind is thrilled to see the completion of their 2016 projects come to a successful close,” said Scotian president Terry Norman.
The 2016 projects total 11.68MW, bringing SWEB’s fleet to 39.63MW of total capacity in Nova Scotia.
The distribution-connected projects have 20-year power purchase agreements with utility Nova Scotia Power.
