Siemens Canada has secured a deal to export 36 turbine blades to the UK from its manufacturing facility in Ontario.
The province’s energy ministry said some 300 jobs at the Tillsonburg facility will be supported by the deal.
Energy minister Bob Chiarelli said: “I want to commend Siemens Canada, the Town of Tillsonburg and Oxford County. Community and corporate partners like you are helping ensure our energy system stays strong. Your work is helping create good manufacturing jobs, reduce harmful emissions, and improve the quality of life in our province.”
Tillsonburg has already manufactured 1800 blades for Siemens hardware in Ontario, Sweden and the UK.
