Dow Argentina has signed a memorandum of understanding with Invap, a Río Negro state technology company, to develop a 65MW project in the South American country.
The project will be located at 16km square site in Cerro Policía, 50km south of the town of Villa El Chocón.
It is planned to be built in two phases. The $50m first phase will install five turbines totalling 15MW, with the second phase adding a further 50MW and bringing the total cost to $123m.
Electricity generated will help to power Dow Argentina operations in Bahia Blanca, Puerto General San Martin, Zarate, Columbus and Venado Tuerto.
