DWT has been awarded a service maintenance contract for the Mynydd Clogau wind farm in Powys, Wales, transitioning 17 V52 850kW turbines to its portfolio from 17 April 2026.
The company said the site comprises 17 turbines with a total capacity of 14.45MW and forms part of a portfolio it services for Nadara across the United Kingdom.
DWT added that its partnership with Nadara spans more than seven years and now covers 16 wind farms, 297 turbines and a combined installed capacity of 303.25MW including Mynydd Clogau.
The turbines are entering a phase where parts sourcing is becoming more complex and costly, with obsolescence increasingly requiring engineered solutions rather than off-the-shelf replacements.
DWT said it uses a repair-and-refurbishment loop to recover, inspect and restore components for return to service, reducing operational expenditure and minimising downtime compared to new procurement.
The company noted that it can also develop in-house engineered alternatives where parts reach end-of-life with no available replacement, avoiding dependency on original equipment manufacturers.
“We are pleased to be strengthening our strategic partnership with DWT as they take on the service and maintenance of our Mynydd Clogau wind farm, marking the successful transition from a 20-year agreement with Vestas on our V52 850kW turbines,” said John Morris, head of asset management, UK portfolio, Nadara.
“DWT’s technical capability, flexibility, and collaborative approach give us confidence in their ability to support the asset through its next phase of operation, and we look forward to building on this partnership to deliver long-term value.”
