EDF Renewables North America has awarded Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives the contracts to build two wind projects in the US state of Texas, totalling 514MW.
The contracts are for the 272MW Las Majadas wind farm in Willacy County, southern Texas, and the 242MW Coyote wind farm in Scurry County, 260 miles west of Dallas.
Las Majadas, which will use 125 Vestas turbines, is expected to enter full operation by October 2020.
Coyote will use 59 Siemens Gamesa turbines and should be completed in September 2020.
EDF Renewables North America’s portfolio consists of 16GW of developed projects and 10GW under service contracts.
The scope of Infrastructure and Energy Alternative’s work on Las Majadas and Coyote Wind will include wind turbine installation, public road maintenance and repairs, turbine access roads and medium voltage collection system installation.
