EDP has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Portuguese telecommunications company NOS covering output from a wind farm EDPR is developing in Spain.
The contract, in the region of €32m, will meet about 62 gigawatt-hours of NOS’ electricity demand annually.
The agreement will also allow NOS to have energy price stability between 2023 and 2033, helping it achieve a 20% reduction in its electricity expenditure.
Through solutions such as PPAs, EDP Comercial is promoting the production and consumption of renewable energy to business clients helping them reduce their bills.
“EDP Comercial strengthens its position as a partner of companies for the energy transition.
“This agreement with NOS, carried out in collaboration with EDP Renovaveis, shows not only the solidity of the path that EDP travels as a group, but also the ability to design solutions tailored to customers who, like NOS, make decisions that are more sustainable,” said Vera Pinto Pereira, president of EDP Comercial.
