German-Turkish joint venture Borusan EnBW Enerji has fully commissioned one of Turkey’s largest wind farms, the 138MW Saros facility.
Following a year-long construction period, the commissioning of 27 GE Cypress turbines completed the full commissioning.
Borusan EnBW Enerji, based in Istanbul, was founded in the summer of 2009 as a joint venture between EnBW and the Turkish company Borusan.
The aim of the joint venture is to build up generation capacities in the field of renewable energy in Turkey.
EnBW and Borusan have around 720MW of operational capacity in Turkey, including Saros.
The joint venture operates wind farms with a total capacity of 666MW, one of the largest onshore wind portfolios in the country.
The rest comprises a hydropower plant and two solar parks.
