PNE has sold its 34MW Sundern-Allendorf wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia to Encavis under a turnkey agreement.
The five-turbine project, currently under construction, will generate enough clean electricity to power around 22,800 households when commissioned in the first half of 2026, according to PNE.
The developer began construction in August 2024 following receipt of permits from the Hochsauerland district in June 2023.
“We are pleased to be able to hand this high-quality project over to Encavis as a turnkey solution,” said PNE chief operating officer Roland Stanze.
“This project has benefited from our decades of expertise as a project developer… In the future, we also see potential in projects like this for supplementary storage solutions and the use of power-to-X technologies.”
Encavis chief executive Mario Schirru said: “With the acquisition of the ‘Sundern-Allendorf’ wind farm, we are continuing our established growth strategy and systematically strengthening our wind energy portfolio.
“In the last ten months alone, we have been able to expand it within Germany by around 160MW… The project’s high quality and PNE’s long-standing development experience underscore the value of our collaboration.”
Encavis now holds wind projects totalling around 45% of its installed and under-construction generation capacity in Germany.
The two companies said they intend to continue their partnership to advance renewable energy deployment across the country.
