Enefit Green’s total installed electricity generation capacity has exceeded 1GW with the opening of the 43MW Šilalė 2 wind farm in Lithuania.
In addition, the developer has laid the cornerstone for the construction of the 87MW Kelme 2 wind farm, also in Lithuania.
Kelme 2 will be built in the vicinity of the 80MW Kelme 1 array, which has already had its turbines installed.
Furthermore, the last machine was installed in the 255MW Sopi-Tootsi wind farm in Estonia, currently the largest wind farm in the Baltics, owned by Enefit Green.
This completed the most logistically and technologically challenging part of the construction of this wind farm, the developer said.
To date, 12 turbines of the Sopi-Tootsi wind farm have supplied the first electricity to the grid.
With these developments, Enefit Green’s operating capacity is 587MW.
There is 637MW of new capacity under construction, of which 459MW has been installed to date and about 204MW is producing electricity.
