Enel Green Power North America expects to start commercial operation in the coming months at a pair of 200MW wind projects in Kansas.
Cimarron Bend 1 is due to power up in November and Cimarron Bend 2 is expected to follow in January 2017, Enel said in filings to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The wind farms are located in Clark County within the CMS Electric Cooperative service territory and will interconnect with transmission facilities owned and controlled by ITC Great Plains.
The combined 400MW Cimarron Bend scheme is expected to produce 1.8 TWh a year.
The power and renewable energy credits will be sold under two bundled, long-term power purchase agreements with 200MW going to Google and the remainder to the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities.
The $610m Cimarron Bend project was developed by Kansas-based Tradewind Energy, a strategic partner of Enel.
