Enercon has sold a majority stake in the 253MW Markbygden 2 wind farm in Sweden to a Swiss investor.
Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners (CSEIP) has acquired an 85% of the project’s shares.
Markbygden 2 is located in the Pitea municipality, in the northern Swedish province of Norrbotten.
Construction of Markbygden 2 is scheduled to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2021.
Enercon is supplying and installing 63 E-138 EP3 turbines for the project.
The turbine manufacturer intends to remain a long-term minority shareholder in the wind farm.
Enercon is developing the MB Etapp 2 cluster, which is comprised of a ‘northern part’, also known as Markbygden 2, and a ‘southern part’, comprising 97 E-138 EP3 turbines.
The construction of the ‘southern part’ will follow the construction of Markbygden 2.
Enercon will operate, maintain and service both wind farms.
The turbines guaranteed to have a technical availability of 98% said the manufacturer.
Contracts were signed with CSEIP on 29 May. Enercon was supported by DNB Markets as financial advisor and Cirio acted as the manufacturer’s legal advisor deal.
