Revenue at German manufacturer Enercon was in the region of €5bn in 2016, according to managing director Hans-Dieter Kettwig.
Kettwig told German media that the figure for last year would be close to the 2014 record of €4.9bn, but did not give an exact figure for 2016.
He said the company expects manufacturing output to be in the range of 3.7GW to 3.9GW this year.
Germany accounts for 55% of the company’s revenue, but Enercon is looking to expand elsewhere due to uncertainties in the home market because of the new tendering process for wind farms, Kettwig said.
France, in particular, is one market the company is looking to grow its business, he said.
Enercon is also planning to expand beyond turbine manufacture and supply system solutions for energy storage, trading, grid connection and control, Kettwig added.
