Energiekontor is looking to increase tip heights at its recently consented Lairg 2 wind farm, boosting the heights of seven turbines from 180 to 190 metres.
The plans, contained in a Proposal of Application Notice of its intention to submit a new full planning application, would see the remaining three turbines remain at a height of 150 metres.
Plans for a 34.5MW, ten-machine wind farm at the site 3.5km south east of Lairg, and just south of existing Lairg wind farm, were granted consent by the Highland Council in June.
Supplemental info in September and February reduced the turbines and micro-sited remaining machines and infrastructure outside areas of deep peat and away from watercourses and potential bat features.
The version consented in June had had four turbines cut from the originally proposed scheme, with the further three reduced in size to 150 metre tip heights.
Existing access tracks to ABO Wind’s Lairg 1 wind farm, which features three 99.5 metre 2.5MW Nordex N80 turbines, will be used as part of access routes to the site.
Generating capacity of the revised scheme has not been confirmed by Energiekontor.
