Energiequelle has started construction of the 30MW Belle wind farm in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Lippe, Germany.
Belle will comprise six Enercon E-147 5MW turbines with hub heights of 155 metres.
The wind farm will supply around 15,000 households with electricity in the future.
Road construction started this week, with foundation work to follow in May.
The turbines will then be delivered and installed starting in June.
A special feature of the construction is the use of a climbing crane, which is not set up next to the foundation, but climbs up the turbine tower, Energiequelle said.
Commissioning is scheduled for March 2023.
The company said that measures are to be taken to protect large birds and birds of prey.
Energiequelle has developed its own app, EQ Smart Stop, for this purpose.
The app allows for the targeted shutdown of turbines during and after mowing and ploughing operations in wind farms, as such operations attract large birds and birds of prey when foraging, it added.
The farmer can select the parcel he wants to work on in the app and have it switched off via the responsible control room, Energiequelle said.
In addition, Skylark plots were created for the duration of the construction work.
These are patches in the cultivated farmland that serve as landing points, retreats and breeding sites for Skylarks.
