Eolus has made an investment decision for three wind projects in Sweden totalling 88MW.
A turbine agreement has been signed with Vestas to supply the Fagelas, Boarp and Dallebo projects and construction will start immediately.
All three projects are located in price area SE3 in Sweden, where there is a significant need for new electricity production.
Fagelas, in Hjo, will have 44.8MW, comprising seven Vestas V162 6.4MW turbines.
Boarp, in Vaggeryd, will have 24.8 MW, consisting of four Vestas V162 6.2MW turbines.
Dallebo, in Ulricehamn, will have an installed capacity of 18MW and will feature four Vestas V150 4.5MW turbines.
“The need for new electricity production is driven by the climate crisis, the electrification, and the energy transition.
“We have been developing the projects for several years and are excited that we now can start the construction of the wind farms.
“They will contribute new, local electricity generation that meets the needs of local businesses and create jobs during both the construction and operational phases. Onshore wind will continue to have an important role in increasing electricity production in Sweden”, said Per Witalisson, CEO of Eolus.
Construction will start immediately with planned commercial operation start in Q4 2025.
The sales process for the projects is ongoing.
