Ferrostaal and Engie have secured €39.7m to support construction of the 54MW Sainshand onshore wind farm in Mongolia.
The European Investment Bank confirmed the funding this week that will help to meet total project costs estimated at €95m.
The development partners are planning to deploy Vestas hardware at the project in the central Asian country’s Dornogobi province.
A wind measurement campaign ongoing since 2006 found average speeds of 7.7 metres per second.
Environmental permits originally awarded in 2009 have been updated.
