European Energy has now completed the construction of the 37MW Kingebol wind farm in the municipality of Åmål, Sweden with first power now being generated.
The predicted annual production from the six turbines is 108GWh, which corresponds to 20,000 residential household’s annual consumption of electricity.
The turbines are type SG6,2-170 HH 115, manufactured by Siemens Gamesa, and stand 200 metres tall.
European Energy deputy chief executive Jens-Peter Zink said: “In a period of electricity shortages and high electricity prices, it feels extremely satisfying to be able to contribute with a substantial addition of new, green energy.
“It pressures down prices and accelerates the green transition.”
The project has run according to schedule without disruptions or delays, the developer said.
European Energy has also revealed plans to build a 37MWp solar park adjacent to the wind park.
If the county administrative board gives green light to the project, the solar park can be completed within 12–16 months and be the first of its kind in Sweden.
