A Vestas V82-1.65MW turbine at Exelon Wind Generation’s 52.8MW Harvest 1 wind farm in Michigan has collapsed.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the 32-turbine project some 100 miles north of Detroit.
Vestas’ head of external communications Michael Zarin said no one was injured in the incident and none of the project’s other hardware was damaged.
“Working closely with the customer, Vestas service technicians and technology experts are in the process of determining what caused the incident,” added Zarin.
Harvest 1 was commissioned in 2008.
