Facebook is to buy 200MW of electricity from Tradewind Energy’s 320MW Rattlesnake Creek wind farm in Nebraska.
Local media reported that the electricity will power Facebook’s Papillion data centre in the US state, once the wind farm is operational.
Facebook agreed in April to supply the plant with 100% renewable electricity supplied by Omaha Public Power District.
The data centre will be located in Sarpy County near Omaha.
