Falck Renewables has started commercial operations at the 10MW Carrecastro wind farm in Spain.
The project is located in Spain’s Castilla y Leon region and was built in collaboration with Ascia Renovables.
Carrecastro has a power purchase agreement with the Spanish energy supplier Holaluz.
In late January, as part of the Archaeological Week in Tordesillas, which is near the wind farm, Falck Renewables collaborated with the local authorities in the presentation of artefacts found during the construction of the project.
Excavation works and the logging of the finds were undertaken by local experts and students.
Falck said the work has increased the understanding of the prehistoric settlement Cogotas.
It added that further works are planned to explore the area’s past, which aim to benefit the local community, tourism and educational bodies.
