Italian developer Falck Renewables has unveiled a five year plan targeting 60% growth in installed capacity of wind, solar, biomass and waste-to-energy.
The plan envisages a rise in capacity to 1.3GW in 2021 from the current 822MW, an addition of around 480MW.
By the end of 2021, the Milan outfit expects wind to account for 87% of installed capacity, solar 9%, with waste-to-energy and biomass the remaining 4%.
Growth activity will be focused on northern and southern Europe, Scandinavia and North America.
Falck chief executive Toni Volpe said: “This plan is the result of a rigorous process in which we carefully examined the renewable energy environment, our strengths and areas for improvement, and how we can best generate long-term value.
“Over the next five years, we will seek to build on Falck Renewables key strengths and advantages in order to achieve ambitious but highly achievable operational and financial goals.”
