Finnish consultancy Poyry has been appointed owner’s engineer for a 340MW wind farm complex in Vietnam by Thai renewables developer Super Energy Corporation Public Company.
The work will include carrying out a feasibility study, turbine supplier selection, examining EPC contracts and a project management and engineering design review.
Poyry said the wind farm will be split into six sub-projects. They include a 40MW facility in Ca Mau scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2020, a 30MW plant in Soc Trang expected to come online in mid-2020 and a 142MW project in Bac Lieu to be finished by the end of that year.
Poyry regional director Petteri Harkki said: “We are proud to have been chosen by Super Energy Corporation as one of their partners for boosting renewable energy generation in south-east Asia.
“This project further strengthens Poyry’s role in supporting the renewables boom in the south-east Asian region, where we have so far been involved in more than 4000MW of solar and 3000MW of wind power projects.”
Super Energy Corp plans to spend about $600m over the next three to four years to expand its renewable energy portfolio in south-east Asia.
