Finland’s Peikko Group has received an order to provide rock foundation technology to another of the six wind projects in Norway’s giant 1GW Fosen cluster.
Peikko will deliver all the steel components for the 80 foundations at the 288MW Storheia wind farm, located in the in Sør-Trøndelag area of central Norway.
Deliveries will comprise rock anchors, tower adaptor plates, drilling templates and foundation reinforcements, Peikko said.
The company is also handling design work for the project’s turbine foundations and conducting structural calculations.
Deliveries are expected to take place between March and October 2018, ahead of Storheia’s expected completion in 2019.
Storheia is the second-most advanced element of Statkraft’s Fosen project behind the 256MW Roan element, which is due for completion next year. The other four elements are planned for completion by 2020.
